The goal of our renewed education department is to continue the path of the founders of the museum, and build bridges between Arab and Jewish cultures. Our educational program is based on the rich content the museum has to offer, and is designed to attract different sectors of the population to the art that developed in Muslim civilization, its way and its inspiration, and expose students and teachers to the culture of another: its language, its norms, and its rituals and ceremonies.
The programs we have developed in the museum are compatible with the core curriculum of the Israel Ministry of Education, from kindergarten to high school. They combine study, experience and creative activity.
In addition, as part of the museum’s commitment to the advancement of tolerance and the acceptance of the other, we have developed educational programs to promote democratic values. Among the subjects discussed in the museum sessions are democracy and equality, freedom of expression versus incitement, the struggle against racism, and more. We also offer innovative teacher-training programs that significantly improve learning.
And finally: A major part of the department’s activities is devoted to children and their families. The museum offers families a variety of fascinating encounters, tours of the galleries, and workshops, in which the emphasis is on “experiencing” and creating things. The activities are age-appropriate, beginning from age 3.
Come and enjoy a rich and exciting museum experience!
