Your Old Jewelry Is Their New Treasure!

A Social Venture Inspired by the Jewelry Making: Past & Present Exhibition:

Your Old Jewelry Is Their New Treasure!

The museum is currently launching a new social venture - Your Old Jewelry Is Their New Treasure! - whereby the museum invites visitors to donate jewelry of all kinds, which they no longer use. Every donation grants the donor with free entry to the museum.

Ahead of the closure of the Jewelry Making: Past & Present exhibition, in November, the museum will hold a sales event of the donated jewelry. All proceeds will go to the Malkishua association which helps women and young girls who have experienced trauma and alcohol and drug abuse.

Malkishua is a rehabilitation therapy village for victims of addictions, located on the top of Mount Gilboa. The village provides a solution for women and young girls who have suffered as a result of addiction and trauma, and which allows personal growth in a protective therapeutic environment. The treatment staff comprises experience female instructors, female volunteers and educational staff. Malkishua offers girls and women a gender-tailored therapy program, which includes: individual therapy, group therapy, professional training, and theoretical studies, in addition to cultural enrichment in many fields: music, art, movement etc. The personnel support every girl and woman at the end of their initial therapy period, and subsequently in their life outside Malkishua, followed by their recruitment to the army, on National Service, at work and in their life in general. The aim is to support these woman and girls, and to help them to resume their lives as independent people with a healthy reciprocal relationship with their environment.
