Children’s Arts Activity, 1st to 6th Grade Children

Bring your children to a special arts activity at the museum! Developing artistic skills inspired by the exhibits, for children in grades 1-6, with moderator Zinab Abdel Rahman.

Activity areas:

Connecting threads as a garment and as a carpet, tiling art as a sign and as flooring, playing with color and light: glass as the foundation for painting, and glass as a colorful window, Muslim ornamentation and decoration as a harbinger of good luck and exorcist of bad luck! We will end the activity by designing a jewelry collection or illustrated book.

About the moderators:

Osnat Shapira: Researcher and curator of local art. Has master’s degrees in art history from Hebrew university, and in curatorship form the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She also has a teacher’s diploma in open and experimental education from the David Yellin College. She has a wealth of experience in working with children of different ages at the Youth Wing of the Israel Museum, the Museum for Islamic Art, and also at workshops at the Experimental School in downtown Jerusalem.
Rayan Aliah: A veteran instructor and arts workshop moderator at the Museum for Islamic Art.
