Museums Day
Thursday, May 18, 2017 10:00-19:00Featuring the new exhibition “Repositioning”
On May 15th, Lag Ba’omer, the Israeli Museums Organization, and museums throughout the country invite the public to visit one of the many museums free of charge, in the context of International Museums Day. The theme of this year’s Museums Day is "Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums". International Museum Day is held worldwide during the month of May. Its objective is to raise the public’s awareness of the importance of museums to the enrichment of cultures and to the development of mutual understanding, by enabling access to the exhibits and to the information, design, architecture and culture displayed therein. A list of the museums open free of charge can be found on the website of the Israeli Museums Organization: www.icom.org.il and on the websites of museums throughout Israel.
