A Summer of Art for Kids at the Museum for Islamic Art

·         July 1- July 19, Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

·         First workshop included in museum entry fee

 

The museum offers a wide variety of quality arts workshops for children, including:

Cuddle Khamsa Workshop

Making a soft and personal khamsa-shaped doll with fleece material. The children will be able to decorate the doll with different colors, beads, stones, and silver and gold decorative accessories.

 

Herbal Plant Teacup Workshop – with a Herbal Tea Recipe

The process of making the cup, based on a design by a Muslim architect, and decorated with arabesques, includes folding and assembling the cup, ornamentation, painting, tying and decorating.

 

Arabesque Star Workshop

Making a three dimensional arabesque star, using folding, ornamentation, painting and decorating techniques.

 

Calligraphy Workshop

Working with ornamentation skills, using stylized Arabic calligraphy. The ornamentation technique includes engraving on a silver or gold aluminum-coated surface, and decorating the relief with colors.
